Dedicated to the preservation, documentation, and presentation of the history of the Town of Southwest Harbor since, and prior to, incorporation as a town in 1905.

501(c)(3) Status

The IRS has determined that "The Southwest Harbor Historical Society" is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under the United States Internal Revenue Code, 26 U.S.C. § 501(c). Contributions to the Society are deductible under section 170 of the Code. The Effective Date of Exemption is 13 October 2004.

Museum Location

In the heart of Southwest Harbor in the chamber of commerce office in Harbor House (the old yellow schoolhouse). Open during chamber hours from mid-May to mid-October. Physical address: 329 Main Street.
