Mission
Dedicated to the preservation, documentation, and presentation of the history of the Town of Southwest Harbor since, and prior to incorporation as a Town in 1905.
501(c)(3) Status
The IRS has determined that "The Southwest Harbor Historical Society" is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under the United States Internal Revenue Code, 26 U.S.C. § 501(c). Contributions to the Society are deductible under section 170 of the Code. The Effective Date of Exemption is 13 October 2004.

Museum Location
In the heart of the town of Southwest Harbor, in Harbor House (the old yellow schoolhouse), inside the Chamber of Commerce office. Open whenever the Chamber is open.
